Dr. James Boulter is a professor of chemistry and the chair of UW-Eau Claire’s Public Health and Environmental Studies department. His Ph.D. is in analytical chemistry with an emphasis in atmospheric sciences from the University of Colorado-Boulder. His areas of teaching and scholarship include air pollution, climate change, and sustainability.

As the MPH Director and graduate faculty, she strives to prepare practice ready professionals for rewarding and meaningful careers in public health and related sectors. Prior to academia, Dr. Gardner worked in public health practice.

Dr. Crispin Pierce is a Fulbright Scholar (Finland), National Environmental Health Association Technical Advisor, and City of Eau Claire Sustainable Eau Claire Education Award recipient. He has served as a National Environmental Health Association Subject Expert and Technical Advisor and was the recipient of the 2023 UWEC College of Arts and Sciences Career Excellence in Teaching. Areas of expertise include air quality, disease transmission, and risk assessment.

Caitlin Suginaka, MPH, has over 15 years of experience in the field of public health. Her primary areas of focus are community development, trauma‐informed systems building, and chronic disease prevention. She lectures in Public Health and Environmental Studies, and Honors.
