LAS imageGlobal interdependence makes second language proficiency and cross-cultural understanding essential. Nations and individuals are increasingly linked via media, technology, travel and business.

Students of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Latin American Studies program gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Latin American region, its people, and its cultures.

Students interested in the Latin American Studies major are encouraged to successfully complete high school courses in English, public speaking, world civilization and Spanish.
