National Education Association: Support new ideas and practices to strengthen teaching and learning. Programs include: 

  • Student Achievement Grants: Provides grants to improve the academic achievement of students in U.S. public schools and public higher education institutions in any subject area(s). Awards are $5,000.    
  • Learning & Leadership Grants: Provides opportunities for teachers, education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff to engage in high-quality professional development and lead their colleagues in professional growth.  Awards are $2,000 for individuals; $5,000 for groups. 

U.S. Dept. of Education - Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services: Provides a wide array of supports to parents and individuals, school districts and states in three main areas: special education, vocational rehabilitation and research.
