Joseph Abhold, Ph.D.
Dean of Students
Dean Abhold came to UW-Eau Claire in 2013 after serving as director of the University Counseling Center at UW Oshkosh. He has a background in psychology and served as a staff psychologist and assistant director of clinical services at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Ball State University from 1993-99. He received the UW System Board of Regents Academic Staff Award for Excellence in 2011. Dean Abhold received his bachelor's degree in psychology from UW Oshkosh and his master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Student Assistance Coordinator
Kat found her passion for working with college students and the field of Student Affairs as an undergraduate student at UW-Eau Claire. Since graduating with a history degree, Kat has continued her education while working as a residence hall director at the University of North Dakota. Prior to returning "home" to UW-Eau Claire, Kat spent the last five years in serving students and families at Texas Tech University as a residence life coordinator and director of operations. Kat is thrilled to be back home at UW-Eau Claire, to be giving back to a university community that gave her so much.
Assistant Dean of Students
Dean Bonneville has worked in the field of Student Affairs for the past 18 years in the areas of residence life, academic advising, orientation, counseling, First Year Experience, judicial affairs, and domestic student exchange. She began her career at UW-Eau Claire in 2003 coordinating new student orientation. She became Assistant Dean of Students in 2010. Before that she worked and studied at the University of Minnesota, Duluth; South Dakota State University; the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She lives in Menomonie with her husband and two children.
