Purpose of the Organization

Provides weekend and summer recreational opportunities for campers with physical and mental disabilities. Serves individuals of all ages with a diagnosis of physical, cognitive, behavioral or multiple disabilities in a one-to-one setting. Campers have the opportunity to have fun, make friends and try new things, all while giving their parents and caregivers a much needed break. Camp Wawbeek serves individuals able to function in small groups. There are also specialty weekends offered for teens to learn life skills at Transition Weekends, as well as a chance to serve those who have served us at our Veterans Family Weekend.

Volunteer Opportunities Available

Volunteers are matched with a camper and help them in all activities throughout the fun-packed camp session. They are responsible for all of the camper’s personal care and participation in activities. Many people need assistance with their daily activities at camp. Each weekend there is a wide variety of activities such as swimming, bowling, or other community trips, arts and crafts, tractor rides, nature activities, a dance and much more.
No experience is needed.
