Purpose of the Organization

Matches elementary school children who are behind grade level in reading skills with a college or community volunteer for regularly scheduled reading times. Reading times are primarily to help foster the joy of reading with the struggling student.

Volunteer Opportunities Available

Volunteer meets with the program coordinator for an orientation, and then will be scheduled with an elementary student for regularly scheduled reading times. Volunteers are required to provide literacy materials. The pair meets either at the child’s school or in the home with a parent or guardian present. On occasion, there will be special events available for the reading partners to attend.
