Student research is the norm around here

The sociology department at UW-Eau Claire prides itself in the faculty-student research all of our students are a part of! The opportunity for our students to participate in research, in a topic area that is of interest to them, is not something you can get anywhere. This level of research sets our students apart from other universities. This type of research is a highly sought-after experience for employers and graduate programs alike. You will enjoy the challenge and the reward of doing valuable, industry relevant research.

I had a very positive (research) experience; the supervising faculty member was very supportive and encouraged my self-direction. Research in the Sociology department is very applicable to many different majors and career paths.
