Athena Units: Editing a Unit: Admin Tab

Last updated

IMPORTANT! The Admin tab contains special functionality intended only for use by highly trained system administrators. If you're not sure how something in this tab works, consult another system administrator.

NOTE: If you do not see this option in the menu, you do not have permissions to this area. Contact the Help Desk if you think you should have access but do not.

  1. (Optional) Edit the Name as desired.
NOTE: Changing the name of a unit may have unanticipated consequences. Be sure to thoroughly test in a non-production environment first!
  2. (Optional) Edit the CommonSpot URL Path as needed.
NOTE: This URL defines where the CommonSpot site for this unit resides. The URL should not include the protocol and subdomain (e.g. https://www.uwec.edu). The URL should end with the last subsite before the unit's homepage. It should both begin and end with a /. (e.g. /academics/college-arts-sciences/). This will be retired once CommonSpot is decommissioned.
  3. (Optional) Edit the Drupal URL Path as needed.
NOTE: This URL defines where the Drupal site for this unit resides. The URL should not include the protocol and subdomain (e.g. https://www.uwec.edu). The URL should end with the last subsite before the unit's homepage. It should both begin and end with a /. (e.g. /academics/college-arts-sciences/).
  4. (Optional) Edit the production state by toggling the Production-ready? option for each system/path as needed.
NOTE: This defines production-readiness of the unit in a given environment. If set to yes, the unit's content will show up in sitemaps, searches, and can be viewed normally by anonymous visitors. If set to no, the unit's content will be accessible only in development environments.
  5. (Optional) Edit the Donate URL as desired.
NOTE: This defines a custom donation URL as set by the Foundation. This field is optional. Provided it is not toggled off, without a specific Donate URL defined, the donate button on the unit's site will go to the generic donate page on the Foundation's site.
  6. (Optional) Toggle the Show Give Tab? as desired.
NOTE: This turns on/off the give tab in certain presentation layers (i.e. Drupal). This should only be turned off in certain circumstances.
  7. Click Save.
