Parking and Transportation

For visitors, students and faculty/staff alike, parking can cause confusion on a college campus. At UWEC, we want everyone to be informed about what our parking system looks like and never be left wondering, can I park here? See below for Summer 2025 information.

Our Focus

Parking policies and regulations at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are aimed at enhancing public safety, maintaining flexibility and choice, meeting customer demand for convenience and affordability and supporting the University's mission and goals. The parking and transportation unit has a comprehensive approach that includes managing parking assets, promoting transit and alternative modes of transportation.

Updates for Summer 2025

UWEC Upper Campus:

• Effective at 4pm Thursday, May 15th no permits are required for ‘R’ residence hall, ‘A’ Activity, or ‘B’ Bollinger. Enforcement in these lots will return on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.
• All other UWEC parking regulations over summer will be enforced on upper campus parking lots.​
• Effective May 19, 2025, Corner Lot will be managed by CVTC. AMP CVTC P8 Lot will require payment 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Overnight parking and trailer parking are not permitted. If you have additional questions, please visit the CVTC website at http://bit.ly/cvtc_parking
• Effective May 19, 2025, UWEC 'C' Lot (Across Clairemont) is managed by CVTC. If you have additional questions, please visit the CVTC website at http://bit.ly/cvtc_parking 

UWEC Lower Campus: 

• Effective at 8am, May 12th going through May 26th, Visitor Lot A will temporarily be changed to AMP payment required, 8am-9pm daily. On May 27th at 8am, it will return to Visitors Permit Required, Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm.
• Effective May 16th, 2025, AMP zone 3- HHC Parking lot, will not be available. It is tentatively set to return in the Fall-TBD.
• All other parking regulations over summer will be enforced on lower campus parking lots

UWEC Priory:

• Effective at 4pm, Thursday, May 15th, F/S/R permits are not required for the Priory parking lot. ​Enforcement in these permitted areas will return on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.
• All other parking regulations over the summer will be enforced at the Priory.
