All UWEC students are welcome to schedule live online appointments. In an online appointment, you and a Writing Assistant Intern will work together in real-time, through our WCOnline system. Once connected, you and your Writing Assistant Intern will do the following:
- Discuss your writing assignment and goals for your 45-minute session. You can always schedule a follow-up appointment if you need more time.
- Set an agenda based on your writing concerns at a particular stage in the writing process.
- Talk about your approach and read through a draft.
- Talk about ways to revise your current work and strategies for moving forward.
To schedule an online appointment, go to www.uwec.mywconline.com (link available below). If this is your first visit, you will need to create an account. Once you've logged into your account, simply choose a day and time that works for you! At the time of your appointment, log into WCOnline and select the box for your session. Your Writing Assistant Intern will meet you in the chat room to begin the session.
Preparing for an online appointment
You will need a computer/tablet connected to the internet to do the session. Online sessions are best for shorter pieces of writing. And since your document gets reformatted, this method is not effective for questions about formatting or layout.
