In May of 2018, Danielle Schulzetenberg was named Head Coach of the UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team.
Schulzetenberg competed for the Blugolds from 2009-10 to 2012-13 and left her mark on the program’s record books. She still holds the school record on the floor exercise (9.825) and has the third-best score on beam and sixth-best on vault. The Maple Grove, Minn. native also was a part of the highest team scores in program history for vault and floor exercise.
Schulzetenberg was a two-time WIAC Champion (floor exercise and balance beam) and seven-time All-American (beam and all-round in 2010, vault and all-round in 2011, floor exercise, all-around in 2012 and all-round in 2013). She was also named to the NCGA All-Academic team in 2013.
As head coach, Schulzetenberg coached Kiya Bjorge (Sr.-Kennewick, WA/Southridge), who finished as national runner-up on the floor exercise at the 2018-2019 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA). Two more Blugolds also ended up finishing with All-American honors at the NCGA Championships.
