Zak Pfeffer enters his second season on the Blugold coaching staff in 2018-19.

Pfeffer serves as the defensive backs coach where he responsible for passing game scouting reports and game plans along with implementing scheme and technique to the defensive backs in the classroom and on the practice field. Pfeffer also coordinates the kickoff return unit.

Additionally, Pfeffer organizes the team’s travel and study tables while overseeing academic eligibility for all players. He also arranges and runs the program’s 7-on-7 passing league during the summer.

Prior to coaching at UW-Eau Claire, Pfeffer coached the linebackers and was the academic advisor at Presentation College (SD). The year before, he was the graduate assistant at Wayne State College where he assisted in coaching the cornerbacks and recruiting while obtaining a master’s degree in Sports & Recreation Management from Wayne State in 2014.

Pfeffer earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Concordia-St. Paul in 2012 where he served as a student assistant coach for the defensives backs.
