Cheryl has a B.A. in German/Secondary Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota and an M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has studied in Germany, worked as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Germany, and conducted her master's research in Guatemala. She worked in international education at both of her alma maters prior to coming to Eau Claire as a Study Abroad Coordinator. Cheryl is a Certified Education Abroad Professional through the Forum on Education Abroad, is a Peer Reviewer for the Forum's Quality Assurance Program (QUIP), and will begin a three-year term as a Forum Certification Assessor in July 2016.
Cheryl coordinates study abroad orientation, works with the peer adviser program, supervises the advising intern, oversees the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship awards and is the campus adviser for the U.S. Student Fulbright program. Additionally, Cheryl does the program coordination and student advising for the following programs:
- England (except Public History)
- Scotland (Stirling, Aberdeen, Glasgow)
