Jan Larson
  • Department Chair
  • Communication and Journalism

As an award-winning journalist, I have worked as a reporter and editor at newspapers from Alaska to New York state. I teach both introductory and advanced reporting courses in the department and have a particular interest in the role of journalism in democratic society. One of my favorite things to do is to help young journalists find work in the field. When I'm not encouraging students to higher levels of academic achievement with home-baked treats, I prefer to be outside sailing, biking, kayaking and a lot of other "i-n-g" stuff that doesn't involve anything dying.
