Cecelia joined the UW-Barron County Library in January 2012. She earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies at UW Madison in 2010, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at UW Eau Claire in 2005. A native of northern Wisconsin, she feels right at home in Rice Lake. Before she began working at UW-BC, Cecelia lived in southern China for a year working as a spoken English instructor. She has been working in public and academic libraries since 2005 and is extremely passionate about intellectual freedom and information literacy. As a librarian, working with students and helping them find information is the most rewarding part of her job. Some of Cecelia’s interests include international travel and culture, jewelry making, women’s studies, music, and outdoor activities like biking, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and fishing.
