Mari Bodensteiner received her Master of Education from Western Washington University with an emphasis in Adult and Higher Education. Prior to teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, she served as a two-year English Language Fellow, a program funded by the U.S. Department of State. Bodensteiner worked with the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) Professional Communication Skills for Leaders (PCSL) Education project. She is a co-contributor and editor of the LMI PCSL Curriculum. She has served as an Educational Consultant and Coach for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Connecting the Mekong through Education and Training (COMET) Mekong Skills2Work Project in Southeast Asia. She has also taught at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington as an ESOL Instructor in the Intensive English Program. Before that, she worked as director of a federally funded bilingual preschool. Bodensteiner strives to create an effective learning atmosphere for all students using authentic and communicative practices in her classroom.
