Interested in making or altering a costume for Halloween? Need to integrate lights and motors into your costume? Want to 3D print the perfect prop to properly accessorize?
On Friday, October 19th, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, the Blugold Makerspace is here to help make your Halloween costume dreams come true! We will be pulling in some of our best and brightest makers to run 30-minute power workshops on how to use our equipment.
October 19th Spooktacular Halloween Costume Workshop Schedule:
11:00 AM: Sewing 101 - Learn alterations and costume design skills, plus the basics if you need them
11:30 AM: Basic Electronics - Add some lights or electric motors for extra effect.
12:00 PM: Craft Cutting with Silhouette Cameo - Discover how to easily prepare paper and fabric cutout designs
12:30 PM: 3D Printed Accessories - Use existing 3D models and a little imagination to accessorize your costume for some flavor.
1:00 PM: Sustainable Costuming - Bring in last year’s costume or some other materials and learn how to make it into something new.
1:30 PM: Project Work Time - Work on your project or repeat one of the sessions if you missed it.
We will also be running these workshops throughout the week leading up to Halloween (October 22nd - 25th) See the full schedule below.
Once you’ve taken our workshops, it’s time to get to work making your own costume! The Blugold Makerspace has everything you need to finish it out. You can use what we have in the space on any and all projects. Some popular tools and materials include: Papier mache, the button maker, hot glue guns, masquerade masks, and donated materials (beads, buttons, feathers, paints, etc.)

- Tuesday October 23rd @ 12:00 PM
- Wednesday October 24th @ 4:30 PM
Erin will be running sewing workshops on:
- Sewing 101: Tuesday October 23rd, 2-4 PM and Thursday October 25th, 1-4 PM
- Craft Cutting with Silhouette Cameo: Tuesday 2 PM and Thursday 1 PM
- Sustainable Costuming: Tuesday 3 PM, Thursday 2 PM

- Monday October 22nd @ 1:00 PM
- Wednesday October 24th @ 3:00 PM
- Wednesday October 24th @ 6:00 PM
