The UW-Eau Claire Music and Theatre Arts Department offers a chamber music recital series on the First Friday of most months during the academic year. They are held in the intimate setting of the Clearwater Room at the Pablo Center overlooking the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers. During the 2020-21, concerts organized around a variety of themes are being offered.
October 2: “Music Through War and Peace” as a retrospective 75 Years after the end of World War II
November 6: Solo and chamber music by composers from across the pond dating back to William Byrd (Renaissance) to the time of Brexit (modern day)
December 4: A celebration of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday (b. December 17, 1770)
February 5: An assortment of music written for one piano, four hands
March 5: Works from the classical repertoire that are infused with elements from other genres
April 2: Woodwind Chamber Music
May 7: Sonatas for cello and piano by Louise Farrenc, Dora Pejacevic, and Ethel Smyth
