COVID-19 campus update: April 28, 2020

This twice-weekly newsletter contains important information about UW-Eau Claire’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and offers Blugolds details on how to access key resources and assist others on our campuses and in our communities.

Career Services offers support during pandemic

Career Services is supporting Blugolds — current students and alumni — as they search for internships and jobs during the pandemic. It's a tough time to be looking for an internship or a job, but Blugolds have reasons to be optimistic. Read all about how Career Services is going the extra mile to support Blugolds during these trying times.

COVID-19 messages shared in Spanish

UW-Eau Claire is partnering with the Eau Claire City-County Health Department to communicate about the pandemic to help stop the spread. Those messages are also being shared in Spanish, thanks to support from a Blugold behind the camera and one in front. UW-Eau Claire videographer Glen Mabie helped put together informational videos about the virus, and Dr. Gerardo Licon, assistant professor in history and Latin American studies, shared the messages in Spanish to ensure folks across the Chippewa Valley are prepared for the pandemic. Watch the videos featuring Dr. Licon.

CERCA makes online debut

The 28th annual Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity made its official debut online this week, and all Blugolds are encouraged to visit the Canvas platform to see the amazing research displayed in the digital environment. Watch a video and learn more about this ambitious effort, which will give online visitors the chance to offer input on the individual research projects.
