It's a party on campus mall: Blu's Orgs Bash Sept. 7

| Denise Olson

Mark you calendars — It's time for BOB, Blu's Organizations Bash.

Each fall, new and returning Blugolds have the opportunity to get a little taste of just about every student organization on campus. Whether you interested in recreational sports, professional networking, politics, performance, chess or any of 100  other things, there is an organization to fit the interest of any student seeking to make connections on campus.

From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, representatives from all eligible student organizations will be on the Central Campus Mall, ready to meet interested students and answer questions. This is the perfect chance to find out a little more about all the orgs (especially the ones with names that sound so mysterious) and make connections proven to enhance your Blugold experience.

What should every student know about BOB?

  • Perhaps most importantly, there is a lot of FREE LOOT!
  • Leaving your comfort zone is the best way to grow. In addition to your obvious interests going in, consider looking into something totally new!
  • Connecting with people who share a passion or hobby is an avenue to forge lifelong friendships.
  • Follow your instincts — if an org representative reaches out, talks to you, makes you feel welcome and comfortable, even if it's an activity you never imagined doing, give it a try. There's a first for everything, even new passions.
  • Signing up at BOB doesn't lock you into joining. It just assures that you will receive more information to help make a decision.

For a listing of all student organizations you might find at BOB, see the BluSync website. Registration for organizations is now closed for this fall, but if your organization would like to be added to a waitlist, contact the student organizations coordinator.
