David Leaman joined UW-Eau Claire July 1 as dean of the
College of Arts and Sciences. He previously served as associate dean of
the College of Arts and Sciences and associate professor of political
science at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. He received his
bachelor's degree in history from Goshen College in Indiana and his
master's and doctoral degrees in government from Cornell University.
Carmen Manning took over as dean of the College of
Education and Human Sciences in July. She had served as chair of UW-Eau
Claire’s English department for three years and was a professor of
English for 12 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and
secondary education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., a
master’s degree in English from Colorado State University and a
doctorate in education from the University of Chicago.
