I’m at six days and counting to my retirement day after 28 years at the U. That’s what I call it. Not the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Not UWEC. But the U.
With the day getting closer, I took some time to reflect on the top four things that I will miss most when I walk out the door on my last day. This is what I came up with:
- Feeling younger than I am. That’s how I feel when I see the new students arrive each fall. I feel young again. Renewed, refreshed and ready for a new year.
- How alive campus gets when the students are back in the fall. It rejuvenates me and makes me smile.
- The wonderful staff at the food court. All of them have been wonderful, smiley folks who just brighten my day. (Thanks, Steve and Jamey!)
- The people that I work with. They make every day worth getting up for.
I hope the projects I have worked on have helped a parent, a student, a professor, etc. It’s been a great 28 years.
