A celebration of the redesigned Garfield Avenue corridor on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. The event will take place in the Chippewa River Terrace area to the west of the campus footbridge and directly across from the Old Library.
The free event is open to the public. Parking will be available in "F" or "S" stalls in any university lot.
The Blugold Marching Band will perform at 4:50 p.m., followed by comments from James Schmidt, UW-Eau Claire chancellor; Branden Yates, student body president; and Mike Rindo, assistant chancellor for facilities and university relations.
The event also will include live music by Common Denominator, and popcorn, apple cider and sweet treats will be served.
