UW-Eau Claire and CVTC to host The Twinjaz April 27-29

UW-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College will present the popular breakdancing duo The Twinjaz at several local events April 27-29.

The Twinjaz, from Sacramento, includes the Lor brothers, M-pact and VillN. They have been dancing for more than 15 years, teaching, competing, judging and performing around the world. In 2015, the Lor brothers competed with their crew, Kinjaz, on MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew" all-stars season and were named runners-up.

The Lor brothers both earned undergraduate degrees from California State University, Long Beach. As dancers and college graduates, the brothers hope to inspire people to achieve their dreams. They will share their inspirational message and perform at the following events:

  • 1 p.m. April 27 and 10 a.m. April 28, UW-Eau Claire Zorn Arena: Presentations and performances for more than 2,100 fifth-graders attending UW-Eau Claire’s seventh annual Blugold Beginnings Fifth-Grade Tour Day.
  • 2 p.m. April 27: Presentation and performance for students at DeLong Middle School.

The Twinjaz also will conduct two dance workshops during their visit to Eau Claire:

  • 5 p.m. April 27, The Lookout at Hilltop Center, UW-Eau Claire: Workshop with UW-Eau Claire and CVTC students.
  • 3:30 p.m. April 28, Casper Conference Center, CVTC: Workshop open to the public.

Finally, The Twinjaz will guest judge at “The Road to Eau Claire” dance competition to be held from noon-5 p.m. April 29 at CVTC’s Casper Conference Center. The duo will then do a public performance at the Casper Conference Center beginning at 6 p.m.

“We are pleased to be able to bring the Lor brothers to the Chippewa Valley in conjunction with our Fifth-Grade Tour Day events,” said event co-organizer and Blugold Beginnings program coordinator Khong Meng Her. “They will add their voices to ours by sharing the message that college is possible while also promoting performing arts to kids in our community and students at UW-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College.”
