More than 100 trombone players will participate Oct. 18 in the sixth Upper Midwest Trombone Summit in the Haas Fine Arts Center at UW-Eau Claire.
The summit sessions and final concert are free and open to the public.
The event will feature master classes and a recital by guest artist Randall Hawes, bass trombonist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra since 1985. It also will feature guest trombone ensembles from the University of Minnesota, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, Concordia College and Lawrence University.
Among the summit breakout sessions will be a presentation by UW-Eau Claire senior and Trombone Ensemble member Pete Winslow titled "Trombone Performance with Physical Disabilities."
