Ten trees on the UW-Eau Claire campus have been cut down prior to fall semester. The trees were either dead or structurally unsound and were removed as a safety precaution for students and university employees. The trees were located around Thomas, Putnam, Murray and Towers halls.

A UW-Eau Claire public history research team has created a virtual exhibit documenting major health-related events from early in the 20th century to the current pandemic. The project shows the parallels between the current pandemic and past crises.
