Teaching and learning in China

| Denise Olson

Dr. Kaishan Kong, languages, was one of six grant recipients of the 2015-16 International Fellows Program for a research and service project called "Chinese Language and Cultural Learning through Community Service." Three Blugolds, Delaney Cooley, Katherine Kocen and Victoria Dylla, traveled with Kong to join a local Chinese nongovernmental organization to provide educational services at a summer camp for children from rural China.

The students taught English lessons, collaborated with Chinese volunteers on camp activities and conducted field research about cross-cultural communications. Get a glimpse of this incredible immersion experience through the following blog post which tells their travel story through images and personal insights.

One amazing summer: teaching & learning overseas
