As a kinesiology major and marketing minor, Brittany LeBahn was struggling to find a way to combine her two academic interests into a single career path. After enrolling in a marketing class in professional sales taught by Jerry Kollross, she found her answer. In the class, Brittany discovered she had a talent for sales and an excitement for an industry she’d not previously considered. So when her instructor encouraged her to join the UW-Eau Claire Sales Team that he coaches, Brittany decided to give it a try. In her few short months on the sales team this fall, she placed as a top three finalist in the Blugold Sales Challenge and she placed in the top 8 out of 120 competitors at the International Collegiate Sales Competition in Orlando, Florida. Her success in these high-profile competitions, along with the networking opportunities they gave her and Jerry Kollross’ encouragement, have helped Brittany discover new interests and an intriguing career path she is now anxious to pursue. When she graduates from UW-Eau Claire this month, the Chanhassen, Minnesota, native will begin her career working for Johnson & Johnson as an Ethicon Sales Training Representative, a position that will allow her to combine her love for sales and her interest in the human body by working in the field of medical device sales. By studying movement AND succeeding in sales, Brittany LeBahn now has her dream job waiting for her … and that’s pretty powerful!
