Students, faculty, staff invited to complete Campus Climate Survey

UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff are encouraged to complete the 2015 Campus Climate Survey by March 13.

The survey, online at, invites campus community members to describe personal experiences and observations about life on campus and to offer suggestions for changes. Participation is voluntary, and all answers are confidential.

The UW-Eau Claire Foundation and other campus departments and units have donated prizes as survey incentives. Those completing the survey may enter a drawing for prizes including Beats by Dre headphones, a Bluetooth wireless speaker, a Fitbit wristband, various gift certificates and coupons, and more. (Individuals' names will not be connected with their responses to the campus climate survey.) An option to document proof of participation in the survey also is available.

The last climate survey ran in 2009 and was led by a consultant chosen by UW System. The 2015 survey is being led by a UW-Eau Claire campus team, consisting of Melissa Bonstead-Bruns, sociology;Jeff Goodman, psychology; Mary Canales, nursing and EDI Fellow; and Teresa O'Halloran, Affirmative Action director. The questions have been updated and tailored more specifically for UW-Eau Claire and have been separated into two surveys, one for employees and one for students, to gain the most accurate picture of the campus social climate.

The survey has been reviewed and approved by the UW-Eau Claire Institutional Review Board. It is recommended that individuals use a computer or tablet to complete the survey, as it can be difficult to navigate on a cell phone. Those wishing to take the survey in a format other than the online version may contact the Affirmative Action Office, 217 Schofield Hall, at 715-836-6025.
