University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension is now accepting registrations for the Eating Disorders and Self-Injury Conference May 20 in Davies Center at UW-Eau Claire.
Sessions, which will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., will explore best practices in assessing and treating teens and young adults with eating disorders and non-suicidal self-injury, especially in cases where these disorders co-occur. Merging the latest research with extensive clinical experience, presenters will offer insights, tools and treatment options that are both practical and effective.
Dr. Heather Trangsrud, a psychologist in UW-Eau Claire Counseling Services, and Dr. Jennifer Muehlenkamp, UW-Eau Claire associate professor of psychology, will present at the conference. Additional speakers will be Dr. Jason Washburn and Dr. Denise Styer of Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Chicago, Illinois;and Dr. Brianna Woodford of The Emily Program, a treatment provider in the Twin Cities area.
A discounted fee of $130 per person will be offered through April 10. After this deadline, the fee will be $170 per person. All UW-System faculty, staff and students will receive a discounted rate of $50 per person.
Professionals following MPSW code and counselors certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) will receive six continuing education contact hours for the full-day program.
