University Recreation and Sport Operations has reopened for the fall semester for UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff only.
Campus leadership, in conjunction with the Eau Claire City-County Health Department, has made the decision to not allow outside users to access facilities and programs until January 2021. Outside users include emeriti and retired employees, alumni, private contract employees, spouses/partners and children of Blugold ID holders.
Recreation and Sport Operations staff understand the news may be frustrating for community members but ask for continued patience and flexibility during this uncertain time of COVID-19. The staff will continue to evaluate the impact of having students back on campus with limited classes, activities and space during first semester before welcoming community members back to facilities. The decision to reopen to the public will hinge on COVID-19 case trajectory and the availability of testing in Eau Claire County.
Recreation and Sport Operations staff members look forward to having everyone back as soon as it can be accomplished safely and will communicate any decisions on a possible January 2021 reopening to external users, including emeriti and retired employees, alumni, private contract employees, spouses/partners and children of Blugold ID holders.
