Dr. Saori Braun, assistant professor of kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, will present "Physical Inactivity and Bone Health in Younger and Older Adults" from noon-1 p.m. March 25 as part of the Alumni Association's "Let's Do Lunch" series at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club, 828 Clubview Lane, Altoona.
Braun will discuss osteoporosis, a condition known as the "silent killer" due to its symptomless development and lack of public awareness. She also will address a number of important topics, including how people can prevent osteoporosis by maximizing bone mass during growth and minimizing bone loss as they age; and how physical inactivity impacts bone health among individuals in today's society.
The lunch buffet begins at noon, with the presentation to follow. The cost to attend is $13 per person, which includes the presentation, buffet, tax and tip.
