Jason Jon Anderson, formerly assistant director for conferences and event services at UW-Eau Claire, has been named executive director of the Pablo Center at the Confluence.
Anderson had been serving as acting executive director at the Pablo Center since October.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jason Jon Anderson as the new executive director," said Vicki Hoehn, chair of the Confluence Council board of directors, in a news release. "We look forward to his leadership as the organization grows as well as the energy, passion and dedication he brings to the Pablo Center at the Confluence.”
Anderson had been employed at UW-Eau Claire since 2007, first as event production coordinator and then in an expanded role leading both conferences and event production.
“The Pablo Center at the Confluence is the most critical project for the continued success of our downtown development as well as our literary, visual and performing arts; it must be the welcoming creative hub to everything we have all worked so hard to create," Anderson said in the news release. "I am most excited to lead the staff and building into our inaugural season.”
The Pablo Center at the Confluence will be a shared university-community facility. Scheduled to open in fall 2018, the arts center will provide much-needed rehearsal, teaching and support space for UW-Eau Claire's theater program and a significantly larger performance venue for its nationally renowned music program. The center also will host community concerts, performances and Broadway-style touring shows that no current campus or community venue can support.
