Jinxuan (Allen) Cong will present “Dalian: China’s Romantic City” from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, as part of UW-Eau Claire – Barron County's "Thursdays @ the U" lecture and performance series. The event will be held in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall (Room 234, Ritzinger Hall) on the Rice Lake campus, 1800 College Drive.

Cong is an international student from Dalian, China, whose intended major is mechanical engineering. It has long been his dream to introduce Dalian to his many friends in the United States. Dalian, also known as “The Romantic City,” is one of the main economic centers of northeast China since it is a port city surrounded by the Yellow Sea and the inland Bohai Sea. The city also is a thriving multicultural metropolis with a fascinating 100-year history. Cong will introduce attendees to the geography, economy and culture of his native city.
