The Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has formally approved continued accreditation for UW-Eau Claire. The university's next scheduled comprehensive evaluation will be in 2019-20.
"UW-Eau Claire is to be commended on its self-study report, process and commitment to provide evidence that it clearly satisfies the criteria for accreditation," the HLC evaluation team wrote in its final report. "The process was extremely open, candid and thorough;and included a wide cross section of the campus community and its stakeholders."
The self-study involved hundreds of faculty, staff, students and alumni over a period of almost three years. The self-study and evaluation team reports will be used to guide institutional planning and continuous improvement efforts. See the reports at www.uwec.edu/hlc.
UW-Eau Claire has had continuous accreditation since 1950.
