Garfield project to require April 11 water shut-off in five buildings

Work on the Garfield Avenue redevelopment project will require a water shut-off at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the following lower campus buildings: Schofield Hall, Old Library, McIntyre Library, Katharine Thomas Hall and Putnam Hall.

The shut-off is required to allow the water distribution system in those buildings to be tied in to installation of a new water main. We apologize for the inconvenience the water outage will cause. The time of the outage was chosen because it is the optimal time of day for students living in Thomas and Putnam residence Halls.

There will be no running water in these buildings during the water shut-off, which is expected to last 1 to 1½ hours.

Those working and living in the affected buildings are asked to use restrooms in other campus buildings until the water supply is turned back on.
