In October 2018 Chancellor James Schmidt formed the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Leadership Team, pulling together faculty, staff, and students from the two campuses to collaboratively create a strategic action plan for completion in March 2019 and implementation through 2020.
Chancellor Schmidt’s charge included instruction to:
- Define the contributions of UW-Eau Claire – Barron County to our shared mission. (The existing Collegium Planning Team will continue to address this task.)
- Identify the guiding values of the campus community.
- Describe a long-term vision that will align with UW-Eau Claire as well as support a sustainable, distinguished future for the Barron County campus.
- Create a one-year action plan with specific goals and strategies that can be completed by 2020.
Through its intensive work over the previous three months, the Leadership Team has engaged in conversation with hundreds of campus and community stakeholders to discern the campus’ core principles and anchor these values in strategic areas of focus for the overarching vision for the UWEC-Barron County campus.
