Continuing Education announces October program offerings

UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW Extended Campus connects people with possibilities by providing degrees and certificates for working adults, professional and workforce development, youth and community programs, and resources for business.

Following are upcoming programs that provide the opportunity for people to grow professionally and personally:

Ethics and Boundaries: End-of-Life Care
Oct. 2: Online
Enhance your understanding of ethical issues in end-of-life care in this highly interactive online workshop. Earn four contact hours (0.4 CEUs) while learning the latest on this important topic.

Virtual Visit: Travel Lecture Series
Oct. 6, 13 and/or 20: Online
Do you miss traveling? Take a virtual visit to one, two or all three of our featured locations to learn the ins and outs of getting there, lodging and experiencing local cuisine, culture and customs. Each program will be livestreamed so you can enjoy traveling from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Safe Spaces: Honoring Gender and Sexuality in the Workplace
Oct. 8: Online
In this virtual training, learn about creating safe, inclusive spaces at work, school and in your community. Gain an understanding of key terms surrounding safe spaces and LGBTQIA+ people while exploring your own identity and become more self-aware.

Learning to Lead
Oct. 8-9: Online
Good leaders continually look for new ways to learn for themselves and for their teams to be successful. "Learning to Lead" will challenge and inspire you whether you have been in a leadership role for a long time or you’ve recently taken on such a position. This course can be taken individually or as part of the Supervisory Management Certificate Program. This is a core (required) course. Complete the three core courses, plus take any six days of electives to complete your certificate. 

Maintaining Motivation and Connection in a Virtual Workforce
Oct. 13: Online
Working remotely presents new challenges and new opportunities. This course provides individuals (not just leaders) with the knowledge to be intentional about connecting with work remotely. In this interactive online course, we will assess your personal communication preferences and discover how these individual preferences affect your team’s feelings of connection and motivation.

Coaching Your Way to Engaged Employees
Oct. 20-21: Online
Coaching is an effective and popular leadership style that helps employees feel empowered and engaged in their workplace. This online program will teach leaders strategies and provide tools to implement a coaching leadership style. This course can be taken individually or as part of the Supervisory Management Certificate Program. This is an elective course. Complete three core courses plus take any six days of electives to complete your certificate.

Ethics and Boundaries: Ethics and the Law
Oct. 23: Online
Understand how the intersection of law and professional ethics can complicate ethical decision making. Earn four contact hours (0.4 CEUs) while covering this topic through live, online training. 

Leading Virtual Teams
Oct. 27: Online
In this interactive online course, you will learn the fundamental elements of successful teams and how we can apply these concepts to achieve even superior results in an increasingly virtual world.

Orientation, Time Management and Delegation
Oct. 29-30: Online
Empower your employees. This online course will help you become an effective supervisor by learning how to utilize your employees’ strengths to work as a team. This course can be taken individually or as part of the Supervisory Management Certificate Program. This is a core (required) course. Complete the three core courses plus take any six days of electives to complete your certificate.
