UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extended Campus connects people with possibilities by providing degrees and certificates for working adults, professional and workforce development, youth and community programs, and resources for business.

Following are upcoming programs that provide the opportunity for individuals to grow professionally and personally:

Conversations About Change: Introduction to Motivational Interviewing
June 2, 9, 16 and 30, online
This online training will provide you with the most-up-do-date information about motivational interviewing and how you can help clients make positive and lasting changes in their lives. Participants will complete 3.5 hours of independent work on Canvas throughout the month, beginning on June 2. In addition to this, participants will join three live, interactive sessions via Zoom on June 9, 16 and 30.

Mentoring for Professional Impact
June 2 and 3, online
This course will help you discover strategies for guiding effective mentor/mentee relationships. Explore innovative approaches to building and evaluating mentoring programs tied to performance metrics. This program is an elective course in the Supervisory Management Certificate Series; it can be taken individually or as part of the Supervisory Management Certificate Program.

Beyond Dennis the Menace and 'Spoiled-Brat Syndrome': Understanding Oppositional Defiant Disorder from an Evidence-based Perspective
June 3, online
In this virtual program, clinicians will learn about the emerging information surrounding oppositional defiant disorder. Better understand challenging behaviors in children and learn evidence-based treatment methods.

Beginning Grant Writing
June 7 and 8, online
Gain the insights you need to begin the grant-writing process with confidence using practices you can implement immediately. This program is part of the Professional Grant Writing Certificate; to earn this series certificate, take both Beginning and Advanced Grant Writing.

Advanced Grant Writing
June 9 and 10, online
Welcome, grant writers of all experience levels! In two three-hour online sessions, you will gain insider grant knowledge to build skills to successfully secure funding. We recommend taking Beginning Grant Writing first to gain baseline knowledge. Complete both Beginning and Advanced Grant Writing to earn the Professional Grant Writing Certificate.

Foot and Nail Care Education
June 10-Sept. 2, online
Work at your own pace over three months to complete this online foot and nail care program. This class prepares nurses and care workers to offer professional foot and nail care. Learn techniques and skills, and earn 25 education contact hours.

Strategic Problem-Solving
June 23, online
Problem-solving is a sought-after skill, yet the concept can be quite nebulous. What does it mean to be a good problem-solver? How does one hone this skill? This program will give you a tangible process to improve your problem-solving skills.
