A nursing major and program ambassador, Aubrey Goettsch has known for a long time that she wanted to be a nurse. She loved listening to her grandma and aunt, both of whom are nurses, tell stories about comforting people through difficult times and celebrating with them in happy times. These tales of helping others inspired Aubrey to pursue nursing as a career.
Aubrey views nursing as more than a job. It requires diverse knowledge and interpersonal skills, which she has gained in her time at UW-Eau Claire. As a member of the University Honors Program, Aubrey is focused on academic success and the benefits of a liberal education. While the senior from Eagan, Minn. spends much of her time studying and in nursing clinicals, she has also made time for another one of her passions: singing. Aubrey has sung in multiple choirs on campus during her four years on campus. She currently serves as treasurer of Women’s Concert Chorale and is proud to sing in a room full of women who support each other.
The knowledge and skills she’s gaining as a nursing major with a Spanish minor is giving her the tools and confidence she needs to pursue her dream profession. As a singer in the music program, she finds it therapeutic to sing every day. Aubrey also enjoys showing off the UW-Eau Claire campus as a campus ambassador. She hopes to create the same excitement in prospective students that she initially felt when she came to UW-Eau Claire. As a leader in nursing AND music, Aubrey Goettsch is embracing her passions as she prepares for her future as a nurse serving diverse populations…and that’s pretty powerful!
