We’ve been making a lot of changes at UW-Eau Claire this summer, all of them focused on making sure we can provide you, our students, with the best education possible with the least amount of stress on your part.
This fall, students will be able to utilize two new major offices geared toward helping you achieve both academic and lifelong success: Blugold Central and the Advising, Retention and Career Center.
So what does this mean for you? Here’s a quick update on how to take advantage of these services.
Includes services formerly provided by Records and Registration, Parking Services, the Business Office, Financial Aid and Continuing Education.
Blugold Central serves as a single location – both online and on campus – for all your administrative needs. Here, our specialists can help you with all the behind-the-scenes work that happens in order for our university to run smoothly.
Blugold Central is your one-stop-shop for:
- Buying a parking permit and paying parking tickets
- Change of registration forms
- Financial aid questions
- Picking up your refund check
- Paying your tuition
- And many more.
Blugold Central is located in Old Library 1108, next to the LTS Help Desk. When you arrive, be sure to check in with a Blugold Central student employee at the front desk who can guide you where you need to go.
Blugold Central is open during general business hours, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Advising, Retention and Career Center
Includes services formerly provided by Career Services and the Center for Service-Learning.
The Advising, Retention and Career Center is your first stop for any questions or concerns about your academic and career success. Here, freshman students will be able to meet with their academic advisors. Returning students will continue to work with their current faculty advisors but are always welcome to walk-in advising hours if they need more assistance. You can learn more about UW-Eau Claire’s transition into a new academic advising model here.
Career counselors are available to meet with all students to prepare application materials for internships, full-time professional jobs and career events. Service-learning is centrally located in the center to assist with approving projects and creating new opportunities to satisfy this graduation requirement.
In addition to academic advising, the Advising, Retention and Career Center is here to help all students with:
- Creating a four-year plan
- Picking a major
- Crafting your resume
- Finding internships and jobs
- And much more.
The Advising, Retention and Career Center is located in Old Library 2100, one floor directly above Blugold Central and down the hall from Counseling Services. The Advising, Retention and Career Center is open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
