Blugold athletics announces new head football coach

A Blugold alumnus who most recently was offensive coordinator at NCAA Division II University of Minnesota-Duluth has been named the new head football coach at UW-Eau Claire.

Dan Larson, who was in the assistant role at Minnesota-Duluth for the past three seasons, previously was offensive coordinator at Macalester College, and he had earlier stints at Colgate University, UW-Stout and Marietta College. Larson, a 2003 UW-Eau Claire graduate and former student-athlete, was a three-year starter on the Blugolds' defensive line, attaining All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognition as a senior.
