| Diane Walkoff

The Black Oak Ensemble will perform March 8 to conclude this year's Artists Series at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Please note: The Water Street bridge is currently under construction.

Black Oak, formed in 2011, is made up of guitarist Goran Ivanovic, violinist Desirée Ruhstrat, cellist David Cunliffe and violinist/violist Aurélien Fort Pederzoli. Lauded for its musicianship, sophistication and versatility, the ensemble performs a wide variety of music, from baroque to ethnic selections. The ensemble was named for the striking tree native to the group's home state of Illinois.

Tickets are available online, by phone at 715-836-3727, at the Service Center in Davies Center's east lobby or at the door the day of the event.

The Artists Series is funded by the students of UW-Eau Claire. Performers are selected and administered by the Activities, Involvement and Leadership office of the University Centers and by an administrative committee composed of students, faculty, staff and community members. General promotional support is provided by WHYS Radio and Wisconsin Public Radio.

Now in its 50th season, the Artists Series was created in 1965 to promote the performing arts and continues to seek development of aesthetic awareness, interdisciplinary appreciation and cultivation of a multicultural experience.
