As previously featured in the 2021 Blugold View online alumni magazine, Blugold alumnus and Footlocker CEO Dick Johnson shares his fondest memories and most useful business lessons from his years in the College of Business.
For instance, a class focused on speech and listening skills turned out to be one of the most valuable courses of his program, and a set of skills that elevated his career at every step.
"To actually have to listen and get an understanding of other people’s point of view is one of those things that absolutely helped me,” Johnson says. “I fall back on it today. I’m expected to, in my role, make decisions and do things, but if I’m in a position to do that, I want to listen and take in a lot of things and understand people’s points of view so we can march forward together."
