Alfredo Narciso ’98 has been cast as Pablo Picasso in Steve Martin’s play “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” and recently performed with Tony Award-winning actor Jefferson Mays in an off-Broadway production of Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure.” He also has appeared in the TV shows “Ugly Betty,” “Law & Order” and “All My Children.”
“The great thing about acting is you learn about a lot of things,” said Narciso, now skilled in knife-throwing, unicycling and speaking multiple languages. “My education never ceases.”
Narciso struggled in college at first. He majored in English and floundered to the point of academic suspension because he “wasn’t particularly passionate about gerunds and punctuation” and found himself drawn to the theatre program. He later re-enrolled and graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts.
“Very early on I knew I wanted to be an actor, but I never thought I could make a living at it,” he said. “I think it’s one’s responsibility to go after what one wants out of life.”
