2009-10 fall and winter sports

| Kevin Meinholz

The Blugold athletics program has had an exceptional year so far. After the fall season, the Blugolds were in 13th place out of more than 450 NCAA Division III schools in the country, according to the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. The Blugolds also won a Jostens/National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators Community Service Award over the winter.

For only the third time in history, the UW-Eau Claire athletics program won an NCAA Division III national title, as the women’s cross country team became national champions last fall. It was the second national title in the team’s history, with the women winning an NAIA title in 1984.
