On September 15, the Department of Music & Theatre Arts will present a faculty and alumni gala, titled "Honoring Our Tradition," a celebration of the long and rich history of the program. The evening will feature current faculty in collaboration with department alumni in a mixed performance of classical works from composers of the 17th-20th centuries. The event will also feature a slideshow of images depicting the faces and events of the department over the years.
"Throughout the year- it is rare that our faculty come together to perform a single concert. Faculty typically give solo recitals, so this is a treat. It is also special that we have a new faculty member with us who will be performing on the piano. Costumes from past productions will be on display in the lobby, designed by Amanda Profaizer, our costume design faculty member," said Gretchen Peters, department chair.
The concert was created as to raise funds for recruitment scholarships for the Department of Music and Theatre Arts, and all proceeds will go directly to student scholarships.
A reception in the Haas Fine Arts lobby will immediately follow the concert. The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased online.
