UW-Eau Claire mathematicians experience 2017 JMM

UW-Eau Claire Mathematics faculty and students traveled to the Joint Mathematics Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, in early January 2017. Sixteen students attended and presented six posters. One student group made up of Claire Arneson and Emily Gullerud, presented a 20 minute talk on their work with Dr. James Walker. Six faculty members attended and gave five presentations.  One of our research students, Molly Petersen, received an “Outstanding Poster” for her research poster. This recognition makes up the top 15% of entries in each topical category of the over 300 posters that were presented at the conference.  Overall, it was a great conference and much math fun, networking, and learning was had by all.
