More than 60 people, including Mathematics faculty, students from various disciplines, friends and family, attended the 2016 Math in Woods Fall gathering on Sunday, September 19, 2016.
A main goal of the event was to have fun and build community. All were welcome: students, current and emeritus faculty, staff members and their families, roommates and friends (yes, even those who don’t like math are welcome!). The activities included lawn games like frisbee and bean bag toss, hikes in the woods, student/professor math mingling on research topics, a math-in-nature scavenger hunt, and a grill out. There were portable white boards for those who wanted to math mingle! A great time was had by everyone.
