Costumes are encouraged! There will be prizes for the best Halloween costumes as well as for the top finishers. Kids should bring their trick-or-treat bags as there will be candy stations throughout the 1 mile walk.

Price: $20 for adults, $15 for students, and $5 for children 13 and under.  Register in advance here.

For more information about the event, contact Austin Samsa or Mandy LaLuzerne, AMA race organizers.

AMA and its tradition of hosting 5K runs

This is the 36th year the American Marketing Association at UW-Eau Claire has sponsored a 5K race/walk. Originally named the "AMA Fun Run", the event was held in the spring semester in Carson Park. It was one of the first 5K races in the City of Eau Claire. Proceeds from past races were used to support chapter activities and/or a variety of philanthropies, such as the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The race was eventually moved to the UW-Eau Claire campus.

In 2014, the 5K was renamed the "AMA Keep on Chuckin" run, in honor of Dr. Charles Tomkovick, an outstanding marketing teacher who passed away from cancer in 2013. Proceeds from the race were used to support the Department of Management & Marketing Chuck Tomkovick Teaching Excellence Award and the AMA Student Scholarship. Those who wish to contribute to Tomkovick's fund can do so on the UW-Eau Claire Foundation website.

The 2017 AMA 5K has been moved to October.  Re-branded as the "Costumes Against Cancer" 5K Run/1 Mile Walk, the race will support the American Cancer Society. A gift will be made to the organization in memory of Tomkovick.
